The Technion Choir are part of the performing arts unit of the Department of Humanities and Arts. It consist of students, faculty members, active and retired staff, as well as graduates who continue to perform at the Technion even after they have completed their studies.
Leonti Wolf (Conductor) was born in Novosibirsk, in the Soviet Union. He acquired his musical education in the city of his birth and afterwards worked there as a conductor of the Opera and Ballet House. He was subsequently appointed conductor of the Opera and Ballet House in the city of Chelyabinsk, as well as musical director and prime conductor of the Musical theatre in Izhevsk. All in all, Leonti Wolf has conducted more than 800 operas, ballets and concerts in his native country and around the world. In 1990 he turned down an appointment as musical director of the Opera and Ballet House in Novosibirsk, deciding instead to repatriate to Israel. Since then, he has conducted most of the front-line orchestras in his adopted country.(not finished)
